The service

Kindled lets you create shared gift "wishes", invite others to contribute, and reveal the result on a chosen date. Contributing does not require an account.

How money works

• Contributions are collected by our payment provider when a giver chooses to chip in.
• Funds are held and paid out to the wish owner (or applied to catalogue purchases) according to the wish's settings.
• If a goal isn't fully funded by the reveal date, the wish owner still receives what was raised, unless they choose to carry the balance over to the next occasion.
• Refunds are handled case by case in line with your statutory rights and the payment provider's rules.

Stored credit

Where you earn credit (e.g. from catalogue purchases), it is held against your account to put towards your own wishes.

Prize draw

From time to time we run a prize draw (currently advertised at £2,500). Contributing to a wish earns automatic entries, but no purchase is necessary: you can obtain the same number of free entries via the free-entry route below, so the draw operates as a lawful free prize draw and not a lottery.

• Open to UK residents aged 18 or over. Our staff and their households are excluded.
• Free entry route: send your name and email by post/email as set out below to receive an entry with no purchase.
• Winners are drawn at random each quarter and notified by email.

Prize draw — full rules (draft)

• Promoter: Kindled (legal entity being incorporated — this line will carry the company name, number and registered address before launch). Contact: sam.tapsell@kindledgift.co.uk.
• Draw periods: quarterly — 1 January–31 March, 1 April–30 June, 1 July–30 September, 1 October–31 December, each closing 23:59 (UK time) on the final day.
• Entry: each completed contribution to a wish during the period earns one entry, automatically.
• Free entry route (no purchase necessary): email your full name and email address with the subject "Prize draw entry" to the contact address above during the draw period. Each valid request earns one entry, treated identically to a contribution entry, including in the draw method and odds.
• Eligibility: UK residents aged 18 or over. Our staff and their households are excluded.
• Prize: one winner per draw period receives £2,500, paid by bank transfer within 28 days of confirmation. No cash alternative is needed (the prize is cash); the prize is not transferable before payment.
• Draw method: one entry selected by a verifiably random electronic draw within 14 days of the period closing, under independent observation.
• Winner notification: by email within 14 days of the draw; if a winner does not respond within 28 days, a redraw is held. The winner's surname and county are available on request (or with the winner's consent, published), per the CAP Code.
• Data: entry data is used only to administer the draw and is deleted within 6 months of the draw date.

Acceptable use

Use Kindled lawfully. Don't misuse the service, attempt to defraud contributors, or upload unlawful content.

Liability

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death, personal injury, or fraud).

Changes & governing law

We may update these terms and will post the revised version here. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
